Civility.i.e. politeness

From: rospa10 (wilmes2@mindspring.com) | Date: 2004-05-26 23:49:52 UTC
Ah, for a short sweet time, a few scant days, posts were gentle
kind and helpful. Thanks again Pepes for the New l.b. bul. board. I
remain confident the diatribes here won't carry over to that safe
haven. Think I'll go check right now just to reassure myself.
So let's turn to more pleasant neutral topics while waiting for
letterboxing to be the top topic here at the letterboxing bulleton
board...-- How 'bout them Red Sox? ((ducking for cover as the Yankee
fans take aim))
>^..^< Catlover-who doesn't know the difference between a homerun
or an RBI, and I'm not kidding!! but is definitely looking foward to
seeking out some N.H. boxes this weekend.

It is greatly reassuring to see this title on a post - civility, kindness, acceptance, celebrate diversity; they all ask you to honor your neighbor. Such a simple concept and, often, soooo difficult to practice.

Please practice.....

This was our most difficult obstacle in the early days and it remains troublesome ....please try to conquer your first reactions. Be kind to each other, the world is hard enough without controversy in our recreational spaces.

Most of you do not recognize my name, but I am one of the originals here with way too much history of trying to calm the waters...only you all can do that....and the time is now...chill...quiet...go outside

With great affection for you all,

Susan

Hi boxers:

Out of the ether comes a voice of reason from the past.
Head her well. She knows of what she speaks for she has seen and heard
it all.
Thank you, Susan, for breaking your silence for the betterment of this
list.
Erik is smiling.

Here is another voice of reason from out of the past:

"Suppose you go to war, you cannot fight always;
and when, after much loss on both sides,
and no gain on either, you cease fighting,
the identical old questions are again upon you."
--Abraham Lincoln

I found it in post #1741. Thanks Julie.

I noticed that you mentioned that the prayer letterbox wintered
well. Can I assume that it is rehidden and waiting to be found?

Why shoot the arrow at all?
Suppose you don't go to war, no need to fight at all;
and when, after no loss on any side,
and with gain for all, you both celebrate,
the identical old questions are....kindly resolved.
